Sharun was created in the year 1993 by Uttam Wadhwani, who has been a pioneer of the Indian Seafood industry for the last 4 decades. He has more than 40 years of experience in the seafood industry. In the year 2002, his son Akhil joined the company. The company has been formed on the principle of honesty and integrity. Under Mr. Wadhwani's guidance, we have built the company brick by brick to become one of India's largest Seafood agents/ brokers.
We take pride in the fact that we conduct our business in a very transparent manner and that has been our USP with our ever increasing list of loyal customers, some of whom have been trading with us for the last 20 years. We believe in a long term business relationship and try our best to ensure that good quality product is shipped at the correct price within the agreed delivery time.
We represent importers of Seafood products in India and are literally their 'eyes and ears'. Our customers are based in different parts of the world and we regularly export products to our customers in Europe, USA, South Africa, the Middle East, the Far East, China, Australia & New Zealand.
Our head office is in Mumbai (Maharashtra) and we have 04 branch offices all across the coast of India. Namely in

- Kolkata (West Bengal)
- Veraval (Gujarat)
- Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh)
Our team on the ground level ensure that we are up to date with all the trends within the industry and are updated on landing patterns, market prices, etc. on a daily basis.
We only deal with reliable/trustworthy packers/processors in different parts of India, keeping in mind the latest industry specifications and certifications of various countries.
We source both IQF and block frozen products. Also depending on customer needs we can offer Raw, Blanched and Cooked Products. Off late with the innovations and value additions in the Seafood industry, we are also dealing in different value added seafood products, e.g. Crumbed, Breaded, Marinated seafood, Nobashi, Ebi, Fully Fried, Pre Fried, etc.
From a very modest beginning in 1993, We have seen a phenomenal growth in our business and the average export turnover is more than 12000 tonnes with a turnover close to USD 100 million per year and our target is to reach USD 150 million in the next few years.
Seafood Sustainability
Sourcing seafood responsibly is paramount to our business. We passionately believe in promoting the most sustainable products available to us. We work closely with our packers and farmers/fishermen and continuously encourage them to use the most sustainable methods of farming and fishing. We are very well connected with almost each and every BAP 4* and ASC supplier in India. We are also well connected with packers who are part of the registered FIP (Fishery Improvement Programme) in the Kerala area.
Our Mission
Sharun’s mission is to provide the highest quality and selection of seafood products to our customers at fair and reasonable prices while recognizing the importance of conservation and maintenance of a healthy environment. We aim to attain a win win situation where all the parties to the business make a sustainable profit which can grow their business and at the same time look after the interests of the farmers and fishermen and mother nature at large.
